ENGLAND U19 V BANGLADESH U19 REPORT
An unbeaten 183-run partnership between Ryan Higgins and Jonathan Tattersall led England Under-19s to a 9 wicket win over Bangladesh Under-19s at New Road.
Bangladesh decided to bat first but were reduced to 15-3 in the 6th over thanks to Jack Winslade (1-40 off 8 overs) and Matthew Fisher.
Mehedy Hasan (29) and Nazmul Hossain Shanto (33) put on 55 for the fourth wicket but then their dismissals left Bangladesh on 92-5 in the 25th over.
Joyraz Sheik then struck 47 off 66 balls, with 4 fours, but wickets from Fisher (3-33 off 9 overs), Will Rhodes (3-37 off 9 overs), Karl Carver (2-30 off 10 overs) and Miles Hammond (1-36 off 10 overs) meant that Bangladesh were all out for 198 off their 50 overs.
Requiring 199 runs to win England lost the early wicket of Harry Finch for 8 off Rifat Pradhan (1-27 off 4.5 overs) but Higgins then started the flurry of boundaries by hitting five in the four overs after Finch's exit.
Tattersall played second fiddle to Higgins, who went to his 50 off 42 balls with his 8th four, as the score went to 100 in the 21st over. Tattersall also reached his 50 off 85 balls as England reached their target with 55 balls to spare, with Higgins unbeaten on 112 off 102 balls, with 13 fours and 3 sixes, and Tattersall not out on 73 off 128 balls, with 5 fours.
