WORCESTERSHIRE 2ND XI v DURHAM 2ND XI - CHAMPIONSHIP REPORT
On the first day at Kidderminster, after overnight rain delayed the start until 2pm, Worcestershire put Durham into bat and the visitors were bowled out for 218 off 68.2 overs, with the wickets taken by Chris Russell (4-46 off 16 overs), Matt Pardoe (3-30 off 11 overs), George Rhodes (2-13 off 9.2 overs) and Connor Smith (1-53 off 11 overs).
Worcestershire then lost two wickets in reply as they ended the day on 14-2 off 6.5 overs, trailing by 204 runs.
No play was possible on the second day at Kidderminster due to rain.
Worcestershire suffered a 77-run defeat on the third and final day at Kidderminster.
Worcestershire declared on their first-innings score of 14-2 and in their second innings Durham declared on 69-3 off 20 overs leaving Worcestershire with a target of 274 runs to win.
However Worcestershire collapsed to 66-7 and although there was an eighth-wicket stand of 101 between Ross Whiteley (50) and David Lucas (73) Worcestershire were all out for 196 off 47.2 overs.
