Worcestershire won their final 2nd XI match of the season by an innings and 22 runs against Northamptonshire at New Road.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first but were bowled out for 196 off 59.4 overs as Brett D’Oliveira ended up with excellent figures of 5-33 off 20.4 overs and Chris Russell took 3-38 off 9 overs.
In reply Worcestershire scored 441 off 107.3 overs, as Alexei Kervezee top-scored with 156 off 152 balls, with 22 fours and 3 sixes, with useful contributions from D’Oliveira, 80 not out off 144 balls, with 6 fours and 2 sixes, and Aneesh Kapil, 63 off 72 balls, with 7 fours and 1 six.
Trailing by 245 runs Northamptonshire fared little better in their second innings and were all out before lunch on the third day for 223 off 71.2 overs to lose by an innings, with D’Oliveira, 3-64 off 30 overs, and Jack Hartley, 3-41 off 13 overs, being the joint top-wicket takers for Worcestershire.
