Worcestershire ended the first day of their 2nd XI Championship match against Warwickshire at Ombersley on 420-6.
Joe Leach led from the front as the captain ended unbeaten on 158 off 247 balls, with 15 fours and 3 sixes. There were also half-centuries from Neil Pinner (65 off 100 balls, with 9 fours), Alexei Kervezee (59 off 68 balls, with 9 fours) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (54 off 87 balls, with 10 fours).
Worcestershire won with a day to spare as they defeated Warwickshire by an innings and 226 runs at Ombersley.
Worcestershire were eventually all out for 463 in their first innings, with Joe Leach ending up with 162 off 255 balls, with 16 fours and 3 sixes.
In reply Warwickshire were all out for just 90 off 34.1 overs, with all four Worcestershire bowlers, Shaaiq Choudhry (4-22 off 12 overs), Brett D’Oliveira (3-26 off 8.1 overs), Chris Russell (2-24 off 9 overs) and Graeme Cessford (1-10 off 5 overs) in the wickets column.
Trailing by 373 runs the visitors were asked to follow-on and it looked as though they would take the match to the third day but when the seventh wicket fell in the last scheduled over of the day the extra half-hour was taken and Warwickshire were bowled out, with 2 minutes left, for 147 off 55.4 overs.
The wickets were taken by Cessford (3-21 off 5.4 overs), Neil Pinner (2-20 off 8 overs), Russell (2-28 off 9 overs), D’Oliveira (2-45 off 15 overs) and Choudhry (1-25 off 18 overs).
