The opening home match of the Friends Life t20 competition against Durham was abandoned with no toss made.

Persistent light rain and showers throughout the afternoon caused the umpires to rule that no play would be possible. The match was abandoned at 4:45pm when it was clear that not even a five over a side match could be attempted.

Shakib Al-Hasan was due to make his return to New Road but now will have to wait until the next match away to Yorkshire at Headingley when hopefully Damien Wright will be available as well.
