Worcestershire lost their 2nd XI t20 Semi-Final against England Under 19's by 4 wickets at Arundel.
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat first and their innings got off to a bad start when Aneesh Kapil (0) was out in the first ball of the match and it got even worse for Worcestershire as Jack Manuel (0), Alexei Kervezee (5) and captain Neil Pinner (3) all departed, with the score on 17-4 in the 5th over.
Matt Pardoe and Joe Leach put on 38 for the fifth wicket until Pardoe was out for 15 and when Leach was out for 22 the score had reached 64-6 in the 12th over. Two more wickets, Ben Cox (15) and Shaaiq Choudhry (4), fell in the Worcestershire innings as they ended up on 122-8 off their 20 overs, with Brett D'Oliveira top-scoring with 26 not out and Richard Jones on 10 not out.
In reply England Under 19's were reduced to 29-3 in the 5th over thanks to Nick Harrison (1-18 off 3 overs) and Jones (2-22 off 3 overs). A fourth wicket partnership of 43 steadied the ship but then three more wickets fell, as England Under 19's went from 72-3 to 81-6 in the 12th over, thanks to Kapil (2-27 off 4 overs) and Choudhry (1-25 off 3.2 overs). That gave Worcestershire a glimmer of hope but they were soon dashed as an unbeaten seventh wicket partnership of 42 took England Under 19's to victory, as they ended up on 123-6 off 17.2 overs.
