The first day of the 2nd XI Championship match between Worcestershire and Lancashire at RGS Worcester was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
The start of the second day was delayed due to a wet outfield but play eventually began at 12pm, with Lancashire putting Worcestershire into bat.
Steve Leach and Tom Fell made an opening stand of 50 in 21.1 overs before S Leach was lbw for 15. Neil Pinner was bowled for 4 and both Fell (32) and Joe Leach (5) were trapped lbw to leave Worcestershire on 61-4. Aneesh Kapil and Shaaiq Choudhry then took the score to 90-4 at lunch and then soon after lunch their fifth wicket partnership of 31 was broken when Choudhry was bowled for 17, with the score on 92-5.
It soon became 94-7 when both Kapil (9) and Ben Cox (0) were dismissed but Brett D'Oliveira (11*) and George Rhodes took the score past 100 as they put on 28 for the eighth wicket. Rhodes was out for 19 before the rain arrived at 3:45pm, with the score on 124-8 off 48.2 overs. Proccedings were then curtailed for the day as the rain continued to fall over Worcester.
Due to rain the third and final day at RGS Worcester was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The match has been drawn and Worcestershire take 3 points from this match.
