DAY 1

The first day of the 2nd XI Championship match between Worcestershire 2nd XI and MCC Universities at Kidderminster was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.

DAY 2

The second day began on time at Kidderminster, with Worcestershire winning the toss and electing to bat, and after Tom Fell was lbw for 2, with the score on 4, Steve Leach and Neil Pinner put on 104 for the second wicket until Steve Leach was stumped for 28 and then Tom Kohler-Cadmore was run out for 0 before lunch, with Worcestershire on 121-3.

In the afternoon session Pinner was bowled for 98 off 154 balls, with 14 fours and 1 six, and Brett D'Oliveira was caught behind for 17 to leave Worcestershire on 196-5 but then Joe Leach and Ben Cox put on an unbeaten sixth wicket stand of 123, with Cox unbeaten on 51 off 55 balls, with 6 fours and 2 sixes, and Joe Leach unbeaten on 100 off 141 balls, with 14 fours and 1 six, as Worcestershire declared just after tea on 319-5 off 76.3 overs.

Then Worcestershire had a good session out on the field as David Lucas (1-15), Chris Russell (2-11) and D'Oliveira (3-10) all took wickets and MCCU were 56-6 off 30 overs at the end of the second day.

DAY 3

Worcestershire took just 50 minutes in the morning session to dismiss the MCC Universities for just 79 off 43.5 overs.  Brett D'Oliveira was the leading wicket-taker, with 5-15 off 10.5 overs, David Lucas took 3-24 off 15 overs and Chris Russell had figures of 2-16 off 10 overs.

MCC Universities were asked to follow-on, 240 runs behind, and were soon in trouble at 13-3 but after lunch they fought back as Nitesh Patel (49), Devon Endersby (50), Harry Bush (52) and Luke Blackaby (65*) all contributed and their efforts frustrated Worcestershire as the match ended in a draw, with MCCU on 252-6 off 76 overs.  The wicket-takers were Russell, 3-33 off 13 overs, Lucas 2-38 off 12 overs and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, 1-12 off 2 overs.

Worcestershire take 11 points from this match and have two matches remaining in the 2nd XI Championship, both away to Leicestershire and Durham.
