Worcestershire won their 2nd XI Trophy match against Warwickshire by 10 runs at Olton & West Warwickshire Sports Club.
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat first and in their 40 overs scored 191-9. Jack Manuel was the top scorer for Worcestershire with 51 off 56 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes, with Brett D'Oliveira, unbeaten on 28 off 22 balls, with 3 fours, and Matt Pardoe, who scored 21, the only other batsman to score over 20 runs.
In reply Warwickshire looked on course for victory at 120-3 in the 30th over when Shaaiq Choudhry (3-17 off 5 overs) got the key wicket of Tim Ambrose, who top scored with 40, and despite the best efforts of Mark Best (32) the home side ended up short on 181-8, with wickets also taken by Richard Jones (2-35 off 5 overs), Atif Sheikh (1-18 off 6 overs), Aneesh Kapil (1-29 off 7 overs) and Chris Russell (1-34 off 8 overs).
After their opening match was abandoned due to rain Worcestershire have now won three matches in a row in the 2nd XI Trophy and are currently on 7 points after 4 matches.
