Match Report
Worcestershire's run poor run in the Clydesdale Bank 40 competition continued at New Road with a comprehensive defeat to Lancashire at the hands of an ex-New Road favourite.

Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat first. Despite a couple of good innings from the skipper Vikram Solanki (45) and James Cameron (41) the innings never really got going against some disciplined Lancashire bowling.

Cameron scored a run a ball innings of 41 in the last overs of the innings to help the home side reach a total of 208-8 in their 40 overs with Sajid Mahmood taking 4-40 in his 8 over spell.

In reply Lancashire lost one early wicket, that of Tom Smith run out for 14 after a good piece of fielding by Moeen Ali. However the 2nd wicket pair soon established themselves and soon dominated the home team's bowling attack.

In an unbeaten 2nd wicket stand of 191 in just over 30 overs Paul Horton and Stephen Moore saw Lancashire reach their target with over five overs to spare. Horton was unbeaten on 78* from 92 deliveries but it was Stephen Moore who looked in superb touch with an innings of 105* in 97 deliveries, including 14 boundaries.

Worcestershire 208-8 lost to Lancashire 211-1 by 9 wickets.
