The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Shaharyar Khan, has confirmed that spinner Saeed Ajmal is to undergo a further informal biomechanic test in India.
Ajmal is remodelling his action after being suspended from international cricket after being reported during the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Test in Galle in August.
The 37-year-old, who returned 63 wickets in nine LV = County Championship matches for Worcestershire last summer, has already taken two informal tests at the ICC approved centre in Loughborough.
Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes confirmed two weeks ago that he has spoken with Ajmal and that he is keen to resign him for the 2015 season at New Road if his new action is approved by the ICC.
Ajmal and fellow Pakistan spinner Mohammad Hafeez, who is also currently suspended, will have their next informal test in Chennai.
Shaharyar Khan said: "As soon as they (Ajmal and Hafeez) get their visas they will go to Chennai where there is an ICC accredited biomechanics laboratory.
"Hopefully the results from Chennai will be positive for us.
"But at same time, both players have to play some domestic cricket to convince the bowling action review committee they are still effective with corrected actions."
Ajmal has been included in Pakistan's provisional squad for the 2015 World Cup – a tournament he is keen to obtain clearance to play in.
