Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen Ali today made the breakthrough at senior level for England after being included in the side for the one-day international with the West Indies in Antigua.
Moeen has earned his chance after an outstanding 2013 campaign with Worcestershire and impressing with the England Lions this winter.
He is part of the England squad under the captaincy of Stuart Broad for the Windies tour and then the Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh next month.
Moeen has been named at number two in the batting order and looks set to open alongside Michael Lumb.
But his first knock will have to be put on hold after England won the toss and elected to field first.
Worcestershire Director Of Cricket, Steve Rhodes, believes Moeen's consistent form during the past year has been a key factor in his rise up the pecking order at international level.
He said: "You look at Moeen. He has managed to find consistency and England have taken notice.
"We'd like him to play for England because it's a feather in our cap and a massive bonus for him and we are delighted for him."
Rhodes has also challenged members of the current Worcestershire squad to fill the gap should Moeen be selected for his country during the 2014 domestic season.
He said: "If we lose him, we will deal with that and blood some others. Those shoes will be filled and that's what happens.
"It makes life a bit more difficult for us but a great opportunity for someone coming in."
Moeen underlined his commitment to Worcestershire by signing a new five year contract which means his future will be at New Road until the end of the 2018 season.
