Andrew Leads Seconds In Three Day Championship Game At Chester Road

Andrew Leads Seconds In Three Day Championship Game At Chester Road

Worcestershire Seconds will take on their Glamorgan counterparts in a three-day Championship match at Kidderminster's Chester Road ground starting tomorrow (11am).

All-rounder Gareth Andrew will skipper the side as he continues his comeback from a back injury after a fine start to the season in the LV = County Championship which brought him 20 wickets in four matches.

Opening batsman Richard Oliver and spinner Brett D'Oliveira, members of the successful Worcestershire Rapids NatWest T20 Blast side, are also included in the squad.

Engand Under-19 wicket-keeper Joe Clarke will be behind the stumps for his first Championship appearance of 2014.

The majority of the side are also in action today against Glamorgan in a Second Eleven Trophy match at the same venue.

Worcestershire's last Championship match with Nottinghamshire at Royal Grammar School, Worcester saw 17 wickets fall on the first day.

But the second and third days were washed out without a ball being bowled – the start of a run of six days without any action because of the weather.
