Ed Barnard has been in good form with the ball for Scarborough in Australia but his team have enjoyed mixed fortunes in their last two games.
The Worcestershire all-rounder was part of the team beaten by Midland Guildford in the semi-finals of the Western Australia Cricket Association Premier T20.
Scarborough then bounced back with victory over University in a WACA first grade 50 over encounter.
In the T20 match, Barnard took the new ball and removed opener Keaton Critchell on his way to the excellent figures of 4-0-19-1 – by far the most economical by a Scarborough bowler.
He bowled an initial two over spell and then returned to send down the 14th and 16th overs.
A century off 54 balls by Austin Thomas with five sixes and nine fours helped Midland Guildford reach 191-6.
Barnard went in number three and was dismissed for three by Surrey all-rounder Scott Borthwick as Scarborough were bowled out for 150 in 18.3 overs.
Against University, Barnard struck with successive deliveries in dismissing Chris Sabburg and Viv Paver during his first spell of five overs as they were reduced to 11-3 in pursuit of a 217 target.
He also bowled the 24th and 26th overs and finished with figures of 7-1-16-2 as University could only manage 121 all out from 34.3 overs.
Earlier, Barnard had been run out for 11 batting at number four as Scarborough totalled 216-8 in 50 overs.
Ben Twohig made a patient 23 for Southern Districts on the opening day of the South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket West End men’s first grade match with Port Adelaide.
The Worcestershire spinner went in at number four and was at the crease for 88 deliveries and 100 minutes.
He came in at 112-3 and was fifth out at 156 as Scarborough reached 237 all out from 86.4 overs in their first innings with seven of their batsmen registering scores between 23 and 48.
Port Adelaide reached 27-1 from seven overs by stumps with Twohig bowling one over for one run. The match will be concluded next weekend.
Twohig was dismissed for a duck and bowled three overs for 26 runs as Southern Districts (85-7) went down by nine wickets to Glenelg (86.1 in 10. 4 overs) in a West End T20 match on the previous day.
