New Zealand paceman Mitchell McClenaghan arrived in England on Monday to start his spell as Worcestershire's overseas player for the second half of the campaign.
He will have a period of acclimatisation and preparation time before he replaces Pakistan spin star Saeed Ajmal whose current period with the county ends of July 17 after the home LV = County Championship clash with Leicestershire.
McClenaghan is available to play in the final two NatWest T20 Blast group games with Northamptonshire Steelbacks and Derbyshire Falcons – alongside fellow New Zealander Colin Munro – and the entire Royal London One-Day Cup group programme.
His first Championship appearance should be against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham on Monday, July 21.
Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "We've planned things really well. Saeed has been fantastic and we will get Mitchell in early so he can get acclimatised and get ready for his first game.
"He is obviously a different type of bowler, a fast bowler, aggressive bowler, totally different to Saeed.
"But he has got some real good points to prove. He wants to prove to the New Zealand boys that he can play the longer format of the game and he will play quite a few of those for us so that's good.
"Obviously his experience in one-day cricket will be invaluable.
"He is a hustly, bustly fast bowler who likes a challenge, likes a contest, and you don't want to be letting one through your legs at fine leg off him, that's for sure because I think he will give you every barrel!"
Rhodes said Worcestershire are still waiting to see whether Munro can play in the quarter-finals of the T20 Blast if the county qualify from the North Group – they are currently in second spot – for the last eight.
Munro is scheduled to be part of New Zealand's 'A' squad who will be touring England in late July and August with the T20 Blast quarter-finals scheduled for August 1, 2 and 3.
Rhodes said: "We still don't know but we will keep our fingers crossed. I think one of the days is a clash but let's just hope we can have Colin play for us."
Munro played a significant role in the Rapids eight game unbeaten run which ended with Sunday's defeat at home to Lancashire Lightning.
