Brunt Accepts Development Coaching Role With Worcestershire Cricket

Worcestershire Cricket is proud to announce that England Women fast bowler Katherine Brunt will be working as a development coach for two days a week.

Brunt, the number two ranked bowler in ICC ODI cricket, has accepted the position with Worcestershire Cricket alongside her new playing contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Andy Wheeler, participation officer for Worcestershire Cricket, said: "This is a huge boost for not only women and girls cricket in Worcestershire but cricket as a whole, especially in the Dudley area.

"I've known Katherine for a number of years and when she mentioned to me about possibly being available, we jumped at the chance.

"Her role will be to work with a number of schools across the Dudley area as well as working on a number of projects across the county."

Brunt, three times England Women's Cricketer Of The Year, said: "Worcestershire is a place I hold close to my heart.

"I'm really looking forward to spending time in the county to help inspire the next generation of players to take up the game I love."
