Worcestershire Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes has flown out to Bangladesh to work with the England squad for their forthcoming Test series against the host nation.
And the County's assistant coach Matt Mason says Rhodes second international call-up in the last 12 month is recognition for his hard work and the respect he is held in throughout cricketing circles.
Rhodes was part of the England Lions coaching team last winter for the T20 and 50 over series against Pakistan 'A' in the UAE either side of Christmas, working under Andy Flower, the ECB technical director of elite coaching.
Now he will be aiding England head coach Trevor Bayliss for the next three and a half weeks before returning to New Road for the start of the winter programme.
Mason, who is also Worcestershire's bowling coach, said: "It is absolutely brilliant for Bumpy. He works so hard. For what he has done for this club, you can't really measure – and for him to get recognintion internationally is terrific.
"He is a well respected man in the game. He has got so much energy for coaching, so much to give.
"I know a part of him will be thinking also how this experience can benefit Worcestershire because he has always got Worcestershire at the forefront of everything he does.
"But he also likes to work with different players. He will get to pick the brains of experienced coaches, experienced cricketers.
"Above all it is recognition for Steve's hard work and how much he is respected within cricket.
"Coaching can be a thankless task at times and it's great for him to get rewarded – like players do for their performances – and I am really pleased for him."
Mason added: "It is a second call-up for Bumpy and is a nice progression. Like a player would hope to go through the Lions into the international side, it is nice for Bumpy to do the same.
"He worked last winter with Andy Flower and obviously did a good job for him to get this opportunity to work with Trevor Bayliss and Co."
