Steve Rhodes is hoping Worcestershire paceman Charlie Morris can make a positive impact during the final third of the season after an encouraging return to first team action during the past few days.
Morris has experienced a challenging start to the campaign after picking up 96 County Championship wickets during the past two seasons – his first as a member of the side.
But the 24-year-old returned 2-30 in the NatWest T20 Blast clash with Derbyshire at the 3aaa County Ground on Friday and yesterday claimed the scalps of Sam Hain and Jonathan Trott in the Royal London One-Day Cup setback against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Morris has worked tirelessly in striving to again become a potent force and Director of Cricket Rhodes is delighted to see his efforts paying off.
Rhodes said: "It is good to see him back and he has put a lot of hard work in to get back and he is looking good.
"Hopefully he will be a strong member of the squad now until the end of the season. Charlie leaves no stone unturned in his preparation and efforts in getting there.
"He has got a couple of wickets in the T20 at Derby and two in the 50 over contest at Edgbaston yesterday.
"He will be feeling a bit better about himself and more confident. Hopefully now he will really grow."
