Steve Rhodes is backing Worcestershire number three Tom Fell to recapture his best form and said: "it is is only a matter of time before the runs start to flow."
The 23-year-old made 35 in the opening match of the season against Glamorgan at Cardiff in a crucial partnership with Joe Clarke which helped Worcestershire to recover from a poor start.
Since then Fell has been unable to put together a sizeable score in the Specsavers County Championship.
Lady Luck was against him during the second innings of the win at Northampton when he middled a Rory Kleinveldt delivery only for the ball to fly with considerable force straight to Steven Crook at short mid wicket.
But Director of Cricket Rhodes, who side face Sussex at Hove from tomorrow, has no doubt that Fell will produce the goods sooner rather than later.
He said: "It wouldn't be a big surprise to me to see Tom Fell doing well down at Brighton.
"As Mitch (Daryl Mitchell) said when he came back in at Northampton, he hit one that was quite aerial just wide of Crook whereas Tom middled one and it went straight at him (at short mid wicket).
"But we are not worried. Tom is a class player and it is only a matter of time before the runs start to flow.
"He has got to keep believing that though – but we are pretty confident that down at Hove he will do really well down there.
"He got an 80 there last year so it is a ground where he has done well so it will suit him and I think he will go well."
Worcestershire will be bidding for a fifth successive Championship win this season at Hove but Rhodes knows Sussex will present a formidable test.
He said: "They are an interesting team. They've got quite an international flavour to their team with quite a lot of overseas players playing for them.
"We are going to find it quite tough. We have some good battles down there and in their own backyard they are certainly not going to be a side that will roll over.
"We've got to try and get into that winning position and ram it home."
