CAPTAIN RETURNS AS WOMEN’S RAPIDS LAUNCH T20 PROGRAMME AT OLD HILL

worcestershire women’s rapids will welcome back captain georgie adcock for when they launch their ecb vitality women’s county t20 campaign tomorrow at old hill cc.

adcock missed the finale of the 50 over competition against essex at New Road due to work commitments but is back for the division two double header in the short format of the game.

the rapids will take on durham – beginning 10.30am – and then do battle with devon starting at 16.30 with their two rivals meeting each other at 13.30.

rapids pathway manager-assistant coach steve magoffin said: “t20 is a form of the game which excites the squad and, as with the 50 over competition, we have prepared well and are going to back our plans and processes tomorrow – weather permitting.

“georgie is back as captain and we have made a few changes to give us what we think is the best x1 to put out in this format.

“i would like to give a mention to kevin sharp who was not only with us last sunday (against essex) but also at training on thursday evening.

“he was fantastic and gave a lot of clarity to the girls about moving into a new tournament.”
