Worcestershire centurion Tom Kohler-Cadmore says contributions from the lower order and tail-enders are a crucial part of a team's success.
Kohler-Cadmore hit a superb 102 on day two of the Specsavers County Championship match with Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.
But he recognised the importance of the roles played by number seven Ed Barnard and number nine John Hastings in hitting crucial half centuries.
It meant the last five wickets more than doubled the score in enabling Worcestershire to total 403 and claim maximum batting points.
Kohler-Cadmore told BBC Hereford-Worcester's sports producer Trevor Owens: "When we got here this morning, we spoke about winning the first hour which we did.
"Losing the early wicket with Coxy (Ben Cox) wasn't ideal but I felt that Barny came in and played fantastically well.
"It is a great start for him as well and then John Hastings came in at the end and finished it off beautifully for us.
"As a team, you've got to score as many as you can and have everyone contributing because not in every game are your top five and six going to do it for you.
"That's when your tail-lower order come in, a bit like Glamorgan's yesterday.
"They really got them out of trouble from being 105-8 to getting 207 and, when we were 1-2, it was looking a competitive total.
"It is key for us for the whole year to keep moving forward and having our lower order-tail-enders adding 30s, 40s, 50s.
"Doing that really demoralises the team (opposition) and gives you good momentum."
Josh Tongue picked up his first two Championship wickets as Glamorgan closed on 141-3 – still needing 55 more to make Worcestershire bat again.
Kohler-Cadmore said: "We all know how good it is and it's nice to see him get the rewards of a couple of wickets.
"To get Jacques Rudolph as his first career wicket is obviously a special one and it is nice for him to have such a good player under his belt."
Kohler-Cadmore is looking for the County to make further inroads into the Glamorgan innings tomorrow morning.
He said: "First thing this morning, it moved around so hopefully tomorrow it will be the same .
"If we can get two or three more wickets while they are still behind us and get into their tail, it should hopefully be good for us to push for the win tomorrow evening."
