Clarke Aiming For More Under-19 Success After Impressive Test Debut

Worcestershire wicket-keeper Joe Clarke will be looking to build on his impressive Test debut for the England Under-19 side in the second match of the series against South Africa which begins at Northampton tomorrow (Thursday).

Clarke and county colleague Ed Barnard were part of the side which drew the opening four-day Test with South Africa at Fenners on Monday.

Now only two days later the two countries will meet again at the County Ground.

Clarke top-scored in England's only innings of the game with 59 and also held onto five catches including four in the South African first innings.

That followed on from him registering Worcestershire's highest ever score in the Second Eleven Championship – 222 against MCC Young Cricketers last week.

Barnard was dismissed for six in the First Test but had picked up one wicket for 52 off 16 overs during South Africa's first innings.

The tourists batted out the final day to ensure a share of the spoils with Barnard bowling seven overs for 21 runs.
