Clarke Returns Behind Stumps For Seconds Against Birmingham League

Clarke Returns Behind Stumps For Seconds Against Birmingham League

Worcestershire Seconds take a break from competitive action when they face a Birmingham League X1 in a 50 over friendly at Bromsgrove CC tomorrow (11am start).

Coach Kevin Sharp's side have had a hectic programme of Championship and Trophy matches in recent weeks.

But they have a chance to recharge their batteries for the finale of the season and tomorrow's game is their only action of the current week.

Joe Clarke, who has impressed with the bat in the LV = County Championship in recent weeks and scored a career best 88 against Yorkshire at Scarborough, will keep wicket.

Clarke has been playing purely as a batsman at senior level.

Spinner Shaaiq Choudhry will skipper the Seconds and the game will be played with a pink ball and in coloured clothing.

The Seconds next Championship action will be against Lancashire at Southport and Birkdale CC from August 3-5.
