Clist And Bragg Hit Centuries As Academy Earn Sizeable Lead

Charlie Clist and Ed Bragg both made centuries as Worcestershire Academy made a powerful response on day two of the Tri-Series match with Northamptonshire Academy at Overstone CC.

They had resumed on 48-3 in reply to the home side’s 326 but scored a further 434 runs today before declaring on 482-9 – a first innings lead of 156.

Opener Clist struck 188 off 198 balls with three sixes and 32 fours.

He dominated a fourth wicket stand of 103 with Josh Breed (18) and then added 160 in just 21 overs for the sixth wicket with Bragg.

Clist was sixth out at 338 but then Bragg found further support from Riecko Parker Cole in a partnership of 65.

He had reached 116 from just 104 deliveries with four sixes and 13 fours when finally dismissed.

Parker-Cole (61) and Luke Tulacz (30) put on 68 for the eight wicket before the declaration.

Zain Ul-Hassan, who had batted on the first day, departed the game to join Worcestershire Seconds as a replacement for the injured George Rhodes against Glamorgan Seconds at RGS Worcester.

Northamptonshire reached 25-0 from five overs before the close.
