George Rhodes produced a remarkable performance with the ball for Barnards Green in the Birmingham Premier League Division One match with Leamington.
The Worcestershire all-rounder finished with figures of 11.4-4-23-9 – and the other wicket to fall was a run-out!
Rhodes came on first change and was instrumental in Leamington nose-diving from 46-1 to 74 all out in 28.4 overs.
He was dismissed for seven in reply but an unbeaten 39 from Ryan Tongue – brother of Josh powered Barnards Green to a nine wicket win in just 9.2 overs.
Josh Dell was responsible for Ombersley achieving a 25 run win over Smethwick in a Premier Division fixture.
He came in at number three and made 96 off 165 balls with two sixes and nine fours out of 169-9 in 55 overs.
He was finally caught and bowled four short of a deserved hundred by former Warwickshire paceman Recordo Gordon.
Smethwick were then dismissed for 144 in 42.2 overs.
Second team captain Ollie Westbury (47) and Bilal Hussain (51) put on 103 for Himley’s first wicket in the Division One encounter with Oswestry
But Himley were restricted to 189 in 53.3 overs and their opponents pulled off a seven wicket win in just 30.1 overs.
Ben Twohig made a quickfire 31 off 26 balls with two sixes and three fours for Kidderminster who chased down Bridgnorth’s 154 with 18.3 overs to spare.
Daryl Mitchell’s two wickets and 37 proved in vain for Brockhampton who were bowled out for 130 in pursuit of Bromsgrove’s 187 in Division One.
Mitchell hit seven fours in his 51 ball knock and put on 61 for the first wicket with Adam Hewlett (22) but last man Jamie McIlroy (26 not out) was the only other player into double figures.
In the Premier Division, Zen Malik was Wolverhampton’s second top scorer with 42 after earlier returning figures of 10-0-63-2 as his side lost by 149 runs to Knowle and Dorridge who amassed 311-8.
*Worcestershire keeper-batsman Alex Milton hit 94 for Port Talbot but ended on the losing side in a South Wales Premier Cricket League clash with Pontarddulais.
Milton struck one six and eight fours in his 126 ball knock after opening but Port Talbot were restricted to 228-9 in reply to their opponents 285-6.
