County All-Rounder Rhodes To Make Debut For North Canberra Gungahlin

George Rhodes will make his debut for North Canberra Gungahlin next weekend after flying out to Australia for the winter.

The Worcestershire all-rounder is set to feature in the Australian Capital Territory 50 over Gallop Cup competition away to Western Creek Molonglo on October 17.

Rhodes, who signed a new contract at New Road to the end of next season, will be trying to emulate the achievements of County all-rounder Joe Leach for NCG last winter.

Leach, Worcestershire's newly crowned Players' Player Of The Year, helped NCG to win their first trophy for more than a decade in the 20 over Konica Cup competition and made telling contributions with bat and ball throughout the season.

Rhodes, who will be 22 on October 26, will be joining Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Alex Hepburn in Australia for the next few months.

He scored two of the 18 hundreds accumulated by Worcestershire batsmen for the Second Eleven last summer – 103 not out v Loughborough MCCU and 101 against Nottinghamshire in the Second Eleven Trophy.

Kohler-Cadmore is playing for Penrith Panthers and Hepburn for Willetton Dragons.
