COUNTY BATSMAN TOM FELL HITS CENTURY FOR WOLVERHAMPTON

Tom Fell struck a century for Wolverhampton in the drawn Birmingham League Premier Division Two encounter with Ombersley.

The Worcestershire batsmen came in at number three with Wolverhampton attempting to chase down their opponents total of 268-5 in 55 overs.

Fell (pictured above) added 67 for the fourth wicket with Adam Lawley (20) and was finally dismissed shortly before the close for exactly 100 off 128 balls with two sixes and nine fours.

Wolverhampton closed on 204-6 from 55 overs.

Ollie Westbury was unbeaten on 28 as Himley raced to a nine wicket success over Barnards Green.

Barnards Green were bowled out for 77 in 30.4 overs and then Westbury put on 60 for the first wicket with Greg Wright.

Worcestershire Academy player Callum Lea (18 not out) accompanied Westbury in seeing Himley reach their target in 14 overs.

Another Academy player in Jacques Banton made 35 for Barnt Green who were edged out by one wicket by Shifnal.

Banton put on 72 for the second wicket with Warwickshire’s Ollie Stone (48) as Barnt Green totalled 209-8 in 55 overs.

When Shifnal batted, Worcestershire coach Andy Sutton (12-2-44-2) picked up two wickets to add to his 23 not out but Shifnal reached 210-9 to triumph by the narrowest of margins.
