COUNTY BATSMAN WESTBURY LOOKING TO CONTINUE FINE WINTER FORM IN 2019

Ollie Westbury will be looking to continue the significant impact he has made to date in T20 cricket for Grafton United in New Zealand when the short format of the competition resumes in early 2019.

The Worcestershire batsman is currently the leading run-getter in the Auckland Premier Men’s Cricket T20 tournament.

Westbury has to date clocked up an impressive 261 runs from just five innings.

The 21-year-old has passed the half century mark on three occasions and has a strike rate of 118.64.

Westbury is ahead of Ramesh Lakmal (Hibiscus) on 238, Nathan Fletcher (Waitakere) on 187, Akash Christian (Birkenhead) on 185 and Amit Dhadwal (Cornwall) on 144.

He made his senior debut for the Rapids in the Vitality Blast last summer and was part of the squad named for finals day at Edgbaston.

Westbury’s form in the T20 this winter follows on from some impressive performances in the other competitions.

He averages 51 in the Tom Hellaby Two-Day Championship and 61.50 in the Jeff Crowe One-Day Cup.
