But the important statistic is that they are only 19 points behind current leaders Essex despite the complete wash-out of the opening fixture against Kent at New Road.
Worcestershire's first innings batting display in this week's drawn encounter with Derbyshire at the 3aaa County Ground was the exception to the rule this summer.
For they have claimed 27 batting points from the seven games in which they have been able to take the field – a tally only equalled by Essex.
