Ben Cox led Otago Volts to victory in their final Super Smash group encounter against Northern Districts at Mount Maunganui.
The Worcestershire wicket-keeper batsman came in at number six and his unbeaten 32 saw the Volts over the finishing line as they chased a 151 target.
Vitality Blast finals day double man of the match Cox struck four boundaries in his 25 ball knock.
He went to the wicket with the game in the balance at 108-5 in the 14th over.
But his unbroken stand of 43 with Brad Wilson (25 not out) ensured that the Volts ended on a high.
They eventually triumphed with seven balls to spare.
Otago had already been eliminated from the knockout stages with the top three going through.
The Volts eventually finished fourth in the six team competition with three wins, five defeats and two no results.
Cox will now return to Blackfinch New Road where preparations are ongoing for the 2019 campaign.
