County Keeper Milton Hits Fifth League Hundred For Cardiff

Worcestershire wicket-keeper Alex Milton hit his FIFTH century of the season for Cardiff in the South Wales Premier Cricket League.

Milton struck 115 for the current league leaders in the 132 run home success over Pontarddulais yesterday.

He opened the innings and shared in a third wicket stand of 183 with Connor Brown (104 not out) as Cardiff totalled 286-3 in their 50 overs.

Milton hit one six and 14 fours in his 135 ball knock.

He then picked up one catch – that of top scoer Jack Butler for 55 – as Pontarddulais were bowled out for 154 in 36.4 overs.

Cardiff have won six of their 11 matches and are 12 points clear of second placed Newport – with Milton having played a major role in their success.

He remains the league's top scorer in 2017 and now has amassed 784 runs at an average of 98.00.

In addition to his five tons, Milton has also struck three half centuries in his 11 league knocks.

He is now back playing regular Second Eleven cricket for Worcestershire after his university commitments with Cardiff MCCU and struck 40 not out in the seven wicket Championship win over Leicestershire at RGS Worcester.
