Worcestershire suffered more weather frustration as the Specsavers County Championship match with Durham at the Emirates was abandoned as a draw.
Umpires Nigel Cowley and Billy Taylor called off play shortly after 2pm in the day-night fixture with a pink DUKE ball as more heavy rain had left the ground saturated.
It meant no play was possible during the last two and a half days after Worcestershire had bowled out Durham for 197 and then been dismissed for 367 in reply.
Worcestershire picked up 12 points – four for batting, three for bowling and five for a draw – knowing their impressive performance could easily have earned greater rewards had the elements been kinder.
But they have at least cemented second spot in the table behind Nottinghamshire after continuing in the same vein as last week's win over promotion rivals Kent at New Road.
Worcestershire now have an eight week break from first team competitive action before launching their NatWest T20 Blast campaign against Birmingham Bears at New Road on July 7.
*Worcestershire Seconds suffered their first complete Championship washout for five years as the game with Durham at Burnopfield was abandoned today without a ball being bowled.
The umpires were left with no choice but to call off play this morning after more overnight rain had left the ground saturated.
It was the Seconds first Championship game to suffer that fate since the encounter with Nottinghamshire at Kidderminster in 2012.
Worcestershire will now hope to return to action next week with a rare fixture at New Road.
Coach Kevin Sharp's side will take on Leicestershire Seconds at the County's headquarters in two T20 matches on Monday, July 3.
Then the following day Worcestershire will begin another Championship clash against Leicestershire at RGS Worcester.
