Worcestershire players have honoured their former team-mate Phil Hughes by lining up their bats in reception at New Road in honour of the late Australian batsman.
Hughes, who played for the county in 2012, sadly passed away yesterday after being hit by a delivery at the Syney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell, Alexei Kervezee, Chris Russell, Charlie Morris and George Rhodes placed their bats together in a line in Hughes' honour along with one belonging to Richard Oliver who is currently one of eight county players playing grade cricket in Australia.
They were accompanied by a bat signed by all the current first team squad.
Supporters also paid their respects and left flowers and messages in rememberance of Hughes who was a popular figure during his season at New Road in addition to being a prolific run-scorer.
One fan left a note which said: "Rest in peace Phil Hughes, Deepest condolences to the Hughes family, Today was a sad day for cricketers everywhere, No-one deserved to end an innings that way, Thank you Phil for your time at Worcs CCC, It was a privilege to have you here, Sympathies go out to all the Hughes family, to Sean Abbott and his family, as well as others involved in the game, Keep playing cricket guys, Thank you Phil.
