Worcestershire CCC is delighted to announce that Ben Scott will be returning to New Road after securing a loan deal with Middlesex CCC.

Scott will be joining Worcestershire CCC on Wednesday 11th May ready for the LV= County Championship match against Warwickshire CCC. His loan period will last for a minimum of a month with the potential to extend should all parties be in agreement.

Featuring in seven First Class matches during his loan spell in 2010, Scott excelled behind the stumps taking 30 catches. Performances with the bat were also of high caliber; his highest score for Worcestershire CCC was a stylish 98 against Sussex at Hove, and averaging 31.30 during this period.

Director of Cricket, Steve Rhodes, commented “As a Club we are very proud of the development of our home grown young players and it is sad for Ben Cox that he has had to serve his apprenticeship in the firing line of Division One cricket. To aid his development, and to give Worcestershire more experience behind the stumps, the Club is pleased to announce the signing of Ben Scott.”

During his previous spell with Worcestershire CCC, Scott became a popular member of the playing staff. And Steve Rhodes has high hopes that Scott’s “experience and class with the gloves” will help to add both depth and experience to the current young team.
