COUNTY SIGNING PARNELL SWAPS BANGLADESH FOR PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE

worcestershire all-rounder wayne parnell is now gearing up for the pakistan super league after a brief taste of action in the bangladesh premier league.

the 29-year-old, who has signed a three year contract at New Road from 2019 to 2021, joined up with sylhet sixers in the bpl as a replacement for imran tahir.

he played in their final group match against chittagong vikings in dhaka.

parnell scored two not out and returned figures of 2-22 from 3.3 overs, dismissing abu jayed (5) and khalad ahmed (0) with successive deliveries.

it helped to earn the sixers a 29 run win – but they missed out by two points on the play-offs and were eliminated.

parnell, a key figure with the ball in the rapids 2018 vitality blast triumph, is now heading to dubai to play for islamabad united in the psl.

they will open their group campaign on february 14 against lahore qalandars.

parnell, who is a kolpak signing for the county, is available to play all formats of the game from 2019.

in addition to his key contributions in the blast, parnell also played in six specsavers county championship matches and picked up 18 wickets at an average of 32.33 and scored 273 runs at an average of 39.00 with three half centuries.
