County Staging Third Wedding Showcase On March 22

County Staging Third Wedding Showcase On March 22

Worcestershire CCC will hold their third and final Wedding Fayre on March 22 with bookings for couples staging their happy day at New Road in 2015 having already TREBLED compared to last year.

The View, the Graeme Hick Pavilion and the Marquee will be showcasing the attraction of why couples tying the knot will be guaranteed an occasion to remember.

The county's dozen or so wedding partners will again be on hand on Sunday week from 11am to 3pm to look after all the needs of a wedding day – from cup cakes to cars – and take away the stress for couples.

There will also be a repeat of the live cooking demonstrations of the previous two Showcases in January and February so anyone interested in booking their wedding day at New Road can see the quality of food on offer.

And once again the offer still stands of NO room charge for any wedding with 50 or more guests – a saving of up to £2,000.

Throw in the iconic views across the ground, which is looking a picture after a flood free winter, and it is no wonder couples are deciding Worcestershire CCC is the place to stage the biggest day of their lives.

Worcestershire commercial director Jon Graham said: "The first Showcase was excellent and the one in February, we've got two confirmed weddings from already.

"To be fair that one was staged on a horrible day, weather-wise, so for people who maybe thought 'we'll wait for the next one' well it is nearly here!

"It is going to be our last one for a while because we need to get into the business of cricket but we will certainly do another Showcase in the late summer-early Autumn."

The significant increase in bookings is another sign that Worcestershire CCC are heading in the right direction from a business and commercial point of view.

Graham said: "We've got some really good bookings already for 2016 and we've trebled the amount of weddings from 2014 to 2015.

"There are some dates still available this year but they are disappearing pretty quickly.

"The message is if you want to get married in the summer then a) there is no better place to get married and b) we've got some dates available because there is not much cricket being played on Saturdays."

The first face any would be couples may see when attending a Wedding Showcase may be Fiona Watson who has taken on the position of Front of House and Sales Support Administrator in reception.

She built up strong links with members and business partners when Front of House in the restaurant area of The View and now her key focus is to help develop the wedding business.

Graham said: "The Showcases have gone superbly well. Credit to my team and specifically Fiona for making it happen.

"We believe that our facilities and panaromic views of the Cathedral and the Malverns are the perfect recipe for celebrating after tying the knot and Fiona is a superb wedding planner for future happy couples.

"We are in a market place that is incredibly competitive but we've got something that is different and in a competitive market, having something that is different is key.

"The fact we don't charge room hire is a big plus factor. We try and give couples something that is value for money, very professional and a day to remember."
