Cox And Shantry Show Good Form As Kangaroos Aim To Bounce Back

Ben Cox and Jack Shantry are making a big impression with the bat for Greenvale Kangaroos who entertain Northcote in a two-day Victorian Premier Cricket Bartercard Men's Premier Firsts match starting tomorrow (Saturday).

Cox has scored 222 runs with three 50 plus scores in five innings and is averaging 74.00 while Worcestershire team-mate Shantry has weighed in with 163 runs at an average of 54.33.

The Kangaroos will be striving to bounce back after being edged out by Ringwood despite Shantry's 44 almost rescuing a lost looking cause.

Worcestershire all-rounder Joe Leach will be looking to help North Canberra Gungahlin continue the form which saw them register a Konica Cup T20 double last weekend.

The Northies return to 50 over action in a Australian Capital Territory first grade home clash with Weston Creek Molongo.

It will be the first of two clashes in five days between the clubs as they are scheduled to meet again in the Konica Cup next Thursday.

Ross Whiteley's team, Prospect CC, face a difficult task away to Stuart on day two of their South Australian Cricket Association first grade match.

Stuart amassed 345-5 declared and reduced Prospect to 8-2 by the close of the opening day.

Joe Clarke will be aiming to build on his half cetury in the win over Melville when his side South Perth start a two-day Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) first grade match at home to Subiaco Floreat.

His England Under-19 team-mate Ed Barnard was also in good form last weekend in the Konica Cup T20 competition for Queaybeyan who return to 50 over action tomorrow against visiting Tuggeranong in a Australian Capital Territory first grade match.

Alex Hepburn's club, Willetton Dragons, are at home to University in a WACA clash.
