Cox Hits Century As County X1 Defeat Ministry Of Defence At Kidderminster

Ben Cox scored a century for a Worcestershire CCC X1 in a 115 run win over the Ministry Of Defence First X1 in a T20 match at Kidderminster.

The wicket-keeper-batsman struck an unbeaten 114 off 60 balls with seven sixes and 11 fours after Worcestershire had been put into bat.

Cox shared in an opening stand of 87 in nine overs with George Rhodes who made 37 off 29 deliveries with one six and four fours.

Then Dan Holland added 50 not out from 31 balls with two sixes and five fours.

His partnership with Cox was worth an unbroken 118 in 11 overs as Worcestershire totalled 205-1.

When the MOD replied, Pat Brown, warming up for Saturday’s Vitality Blast finals day, broke through with the second ball of the game.

Brown ended with figures of 4-0-22-1 and all the Worcestershire bowlers returned economical figures as the MOD closed on 90-8.

Pete Clark had the best figures of 4-1-10-3 and the attack was completed by Andy Sutton (4-0-19-1), Riecko Parker-Cole (4-0-24-1) and Holland (4-0-13-1).
