Cox To Skipper Seconds In Two-Day Friendly At New Road

Ben Cox will skipper Worcestershire Seconds in their two-day friendly fixture with Somerset at New Road which starts tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11pm.

The county's other keeper, Joe Clarke, is being given an opportunity in the two-day clash with Warwickshire at Edgbaston which got underway today (Monday).

Cox featured in last week's 50 over and two-day first team encounter with Gloucestershire at New Road.

He was an ever present last season and enjoyed a successful winter with Greenvale Kangaroos in Australia.

Cox takes over the captaincy from Chris Russell who led the Seconds in last week's two-day friendly with Loughborough MCCU and is today playing at Edgbaston.

Another regular first teamer in batsman Tom Fell will also play against Somerset. He scored 64 and 38 not out against Gloucestershire.

Paceman Graeme Whiles is included in the 12 man squad after missing the game against Loughborough through injury.
