Worcestershire Cricket Society have finalised their 2018-2019 winter programme – and it again consists of a full and varied group of speakers.

Former National Selector Geoff Miller, who played for England, Derbyshire and Essex, kicks off the list in October.

The following month will see a return to Blackfinch New Road of former Worcestershire batsman and professional footballer Ted Hemsley.

Ex England and Nottinghamshire batsman – and brilliant fielder – Derek Randall will be entertaining Society members in December.

As is a tradition, a Worcestershire player or official will kick off the second half of the programme in January 2019.

This year paceman Steve Magoffin, who has just started his second spell with the County, was a great success with a packed Hick Pavilion.

Ex Worcestershire Head Coach and Zimbabwe Test batsman David Houghton – currently batting coach at Middlesex – will be the February guest speaker.

Then the programme will conclude in March with the current Nottinghamshire Director Of Cricket Mike Newell who is standing down shortly as an England selector.

Cricket Society interim secretary Mike Hitchings said: “We’ve had some great speakers this past winter and this has been reflected by the high turn-out of members.

“We think the forthcoming programme will also be attractive to lovers of cricket.”

All winter programme evenings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Hick Pavilion (7.30pm start).

The 2018-2019 dates for the diary are:

OCTOBER 9 – Geoff Miller
