Cricket Society Three Day Trip To Scarborough To Watch County In Action

Worcestershire Cricket Society have organised a three-day coach trip to Scarborough to watch the County in action in the Specsavers County Championship match with Yorkshire which takes place from Sunday, August 19 to Wednesday, August 22.

Organiser Mike Hitchings reports that more than 20 Society members have already shown an interest in the trip to a ground Worcestershire CCC last visited during the 2015 season when Ross Whiteley scored a memorable century.

The plan is to travel up to Scarborough on the Saturday afternoon (August 18) for a three night stay at a cost of £200 per person.

Members would be able to watch the full day’s play on the Sunday and Monday before returning home after the tea interval on the third day.

The cost will include coach travel to Scarborough and back and bed and breakfast at the Cober Hill Hotel, Cloughton which is five miles out of Scarborough.

Anyone wanting to go to Scarborough should contact Mike Hitchings on 07979 464715 (mobile), mikehitchings@aol.com (email) or 34 Derwent Drive, Mitton, Tewkesbury, Gloucs, GL20 8BB (post).

Meanwhile there is just one place remaining for the Society’s two day trip to London incorporating tours of Wimbledon, Lord’s and Wembley on April 8 and 9.

Anyone interested in filling the 53rd and final place on the executive coach should again contact Mike Hitchings.
