DOUBLE SUCCESS FOR FINCH BUT YOUNG LIONS LOSE TEST SERIES

adam finch picked up two wickets but england young lions were edged out by three wickets in the second ‘test’ with bangladesh under-19s in chittagong.

the worcestershire paceman and his team-mates saw bangladesh chase down a 333 target on the final day to win the series 2-0.

the home side resumed on 34-1 and finch accounted for opener tanzid hasan who made a run a ball 51 with the total 67-2 in the 17th over

the 18-year-old then returned to the attack and bowled towhid hridoy (76) to end a partnership of 142 for the fourth wicket with mahmudul joy.

finch ended with the highly respectable figures of 18-1-60-2.

but mahmudul hasan joy followed up his first innings 74 by making 114 off 224 deliveries as bangladesh, despite the loss of two late wickets, crossed the finishing line.

bangladesh thus completed a clean sweep of victories over england in all three formats of the game.

finch will now return to New Road after a tour which will have acted as another part of the learning curve in his development.
