England all-rounder Moeen Ali insists he is "very happy" at Worcestershire and believes the current squad is capable of gaining promotion to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship.
The 29-year-old spoke of his "great relationship" with Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes and said: "I'm hoping to stay here for a while."
Moeen, whose current contract has still two more years to run, is approaching his 11th campaign at New Road.
England commitments restrict his involvement with the County these days but he is available for one Specsavers County Championship and three Royal London One-Day Cup matches.
The 29-year-old has recharged his batteries after a hectic winter with England in Bangladesh, India and the West Indies.
But he still gets a buzz when he links up again with Worcestershire and was greeted by a hug from Rhodes on the County's media day.
Moeen said: "I'm very happy at Worcestershire. I love playing here. It's a great place to play.
"I miss it when I am playing with England and get on great with the guys.
"This club means a lot to me. It's a great club. I'm hoping to stay here for a while. Myself and Bumpy (Steve Rhodes) get on really well.
"Bumpy always gives me a hug when he sees me and has been great to me. He is the guy who signed me so I am always going to be grateful to him.
"When the time comes, I'll sit down with Bumpy and talk about the future.
"We are both at the moment are clear about our own visions and I've not even given it a thought to be honest with you."
Rhodes said: “Mo signed a five-year deal at the start of the 2014 season and has another couple of years to run and we are very happy with Moeen as a player.
“We don’t see a great deal of him but that’s fantastic because that means he’s playing for England and long may that continue.
"But whenever Moeen comes back to play for us he always enjoys being part of our dressing room and we enjoying having him."
Moeen believes the signing of John Hastings will boost the County's promotion hopes.
He said: "Is this squad good enough to be promoted? I think so. We have been together as a side for a while and have got a very good overseas player with great experience.
"We have some very good all-rounders and that is going to help. We just need the guys to hit form.
"I've played against John (Hastings) a bit in the ODIs. I have spoken to the guys at Durham and they say he is a fantastic overseas player.
"He gives it everything on the pitch and he is a very good guy."
