Ex County Player Shakib Al Hasan Joins Elite Test Band

Shakib Al Hasan has become the third ex Worcestershire player to complete the feat of scoring 100 runs and taking 10 or more wickets in the same Test match.

Shakib, who had two spells at New Road, scored 137 and six and returned 5-80 and 5-44 for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe at Khulna.

Sir Ian Botham and Imran Khan were the other two former Worcestershireplayers to equal Shakib's achievement.

Botham, who played for Worcestershire from 1987 to 1991, starred for England against India in Mumbai in 1980.

He scored 114 in his only knock and then had figures of 6-58 and 7-48 with the ball.

India also suffered at the hands of Imran Khan who played for Worcestershire in the 1970s before moving to Sussex.

He scored 117 and followed it up with 6-98 and 5-82 in 1983 in Faisalabad.

The first player to achieve the feat was Australian Alan Davidson 54 years ago against West Indies in Brisbane.

Davidson had scores of 44 and 80 and bowling analysis of 5-135 and 6-87.
