Experience Ground Breaking ‘Virtual’ Tour Of Blackfinch New Road

worcestershire ccc supporters can now undertake a ‘virtual’ tour of the county’s proud history at New Road via a ground-breaking new venture.

the club have already established a heritage trail whereby members and followers of the county would be given a guided tour of their headquarters thanks to the sterling efforts of heritage co-ordinator tim jones.

but now the heritage trail app – which gives a detailed commentary of worcestershire’s glorious past – is available to download to mobile devices.

it is a ‘first’ for such a scheme at a first class county and will add to the experience for those supporters keen to listen and learn about events which have shaped and formed worcestershire ccc as it stands today.

the app can be downloaded from ‘play store’ and is entitled ‘worcestershire ccc heritage trail’.

tim jones said: “we think this is a unique approach, the first of its kind especially in respect of cricket, to take with a virtual tour of the ground linking to points of interest.

“at these points, you will be able to access a commentary detailing elements of our rich history which will be supported by an array of pictures from the past and the present.

“the virtual tour will start in the foley’s coffee house and eatery and will end in the graeme hick pavilion.

“the commentary is provided by ken workman, whom many supporters will know from his bookstalls down the years seen at new road on matchdays.

“i can say that he has done a fantastic job in telling worcestershire ccc’s story right from the very beginning up to the present day.

“there is a lot to look forward to in the future with worcestershire on and off the field but to have the events of the past recorded in this way is superb.

“the app can be downloaded from ‘play store’ and is called ‘worcestershire ccc heritage trail.’
