Fell Hoping To Get All Clear After Undergoing Scan

Fell Hoping To Get All Clear After Undergoing Scan

Tom Fell is hoping to get the all clear when he undergoes a scan today after completing his third bout of chemotherapy for cancer in the lymph nodes.

The Worcestershire batsman has started on the comeback trail cricket-wise, playing for Wolverhampton last Saturday and two T20 matches for the County's Second Eleven against Somerset on Monday.

But he will be able to step up his workload in earnest and focus fully on making a return to first team cricket should the results of the scan prove positive.

Fell said: "If the scan gives me the all clear, that's it and I'll have a check up in three months time or so.

"If it doesn't, then there will be the next stage of the process but, fingers crossed, I'm sure it will be fine. I'm feeling fine in myself."

Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "Tom has had some tough battles with the chemotherapy, he has had three bouts of it, and we are just waiting for Thursday and his scan and that will really reveal the next stages of where he can be in his recovery.

"Tom is a very laidback, relaxed guy and I think not stressing out about what he has gone through has been a good thing for him."
