Tom Fell has been nominated for the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Personality Of The Year award.
The Worcestershire batsman is included on the short list of six for the award which is sponsored by Bullivant Media.
Fell, who is playing grade cricket for St. Augustine's in South Africa this winter, returned to the Worcestershire side during the second half of the 2016 campaign after getting the all clear in his double battle against cancer.
The other nominees for the award are:
*Lauren Rowles who won a silver medal at rowing in the Rio Paralymic Games
*Sascha Kindred OBE who won a 13th Paralympic gold medal in Rio for swimming
*Claire Cashmore who won swimming gold at the Rio Paralympics
*Alex Gregory MBE who won Olympic rowing gold in Rio
*Cooper Vuna who was Worcester Warriors top try scorer last season.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire will be saluting the sporting heroes from the two counties in the annual awards, with an array of talent and contributions across all 14 award categories.
Voting closes on November 6 and this year's awards evening will be held at Sixways on November 9.
Fell will be chasing his third award during the past month.
He won the 2016 CMJ Spirit of Cricket Award – created by Marylebone Cricket Club and the BBC in memory of former MCC President and BBC Test Match Special commentator Christopher Martin-Jenkins, who passed away in January 2013.
Fell was recognised by a judging panel of MCC and BBC representatives after an act of sportsmanship during the Specsavers County Championship match between Sussex and Worcestershire at Hove.
During a tense Sussex run chase, Fell completed a diving stop on the boundary and returned the ball to the wicketkeeper.
He then signaled to the umpire that his foot had been in contact with the rope when he collected the ball and that four runs should be given.
Fell also collected the Worcestershire Cricket Society's Champagne Moment Award for his comeback century against visiting Lancashire in the Royal London One-Day Cup when the County held their end of season awards evening at New Road.
