worcestershire batsman callum ferguson will head back to New Road on the back of enjoying his most prolific ever season in the big bash.
the 34-year-old has continued the superb form which helped the rapids to win the vitality blast last summer – and whetted the appetite of worcestershire members and supporters for 2019.
he will be returning to the county from may 1 for the majority of the forthcoming season and to play all formats of the game.
ferguson has more than doubled his previous best tally of runs in a big bash tournament with 395 from 13 innings to date for sydney thunder.
he has been part of the competition since its inception in 2011-2012 when he played for adelaide strikers.
ferguson had returns of 79 runs in six innings (2011-2012), 146 in seven (2012-2013) and 37 in three (2013-2014) before moving to melbourne renegades.
he scored 165 in eight knocks (2014-2015) and, after missing the entire 2015-2016 campaign with a knee injury, scored 183 in seven innings in 2016-2017.
ferguson then switched to the thunder and totalled 102 runs in six innings (2017-2018) before his current prolific campaign.
it has followed on from his 390 runs in 10 innings for the rapids in 2018 at an average of nearly 50.
