Worcestershire CCC supporters will soon have their first chance to see new signing Riki Wessels in home action.

The County are playing a 50 over match against Gloucestershire at Kidderminster’s Chester Road ground on April 1.

This will be followed by his first appearance at Blackfinch New Road in the Royal London One-Day Cup North Group match with Durham on April 24.

Wessels has signed a three year contract from 2019-2021 after leaving Nottinghamshire at the end of last season.

Admission is free at Chester Road and the fixture will form part of the Rapids preparations for the One-Day Cup which has been brought forward this season.

It will also form one of seven days cricket to help Worcestershire re-acclimatise to English conditions ahead of the new season after returning from the two week camp in Abu Dhabi.

They will take on Warwickshire at Edgbaston in a three-day game (March 26-28) and then visit Fenners for another three-day match versus Cambridge University (April 5-7).

Worcestershire’s players went through their paces yesterday in another warm-weather training session in the UAE today ahead of tomorrow’s Saturday’s 50 over match with Warwickshire.

The County triumphed by four runs against Essex on Wednesday in another 50 over encounter.
