The first phase of the Worcestershire 150th Anniversary Walk on the Worcestershire Way is being laid and will be completed on schedule in time for Sunday's opening LV = County Championship clash with Yorkshire at New Road.
Around 200 commemorative bricks, ranging in price from £60 to £500, have so far been purchased on the Worcestershire Way which leads up to the entrance to The View.
They include a Phil Hughes Memorial Stone in memory of the late Australian and Worcestershire batsman who died aged just 25 when struck by a delivery Down Under in November.
Worcestershire commercial director Jon Graham said: "One of the first things we did to signify the start of the 150th Anniversary Year was to go on sale with some commemorative bricks that people could buy from our website WorcestershireWay.co.uk
"Again like a lot of things it has gone pretty well. We made a commitment that a couple of hundred bricks would be laid before the start of the season and that is happening as we speak.
"As people come to the Yorkshire game on Sunday, they will see the initial set laid to give an idea of what the various different stones look like – and hopefully they will want to be part of things.
"Starting at £60, it is really good value for money and is something that is going to be there forever hopefully, for another 150 years.
"When people physically see what it looks like as opposed to viewing it on a website, I think they will say 'I'd like to be part of that.'
"If you want to be part of the 150th Year, then £60 is hopefully good value for money for someone to dedicate a brick to a loved one or whatever.
"With things like this, it gathers momentum. But we'd said we'd get it laid for the start of the season and that is happening."
